    I do not believe the purchases are connected but I would suggest checking you microsoft account for the purchase to see if it shows up as you owning the game. Order

    Unfortunately, the Playstore is an entirely separate store that does not belong to Microsoft so you would have to purchase it again if you want to play it on Xbox.

    You are correct in the fact that you no longer need a Gold membership to access apps such as Netflix. You do, however, require a subscription to any app that requires it which can usually be purchased through their website.

    If you game online though you will need to a Gold membership to access online multiplayer services.

    Have you also tried purchashing these items through the Xbox app? You can access the Store and purchase games, DLC's etc through the app as well, so until you can get this resolved, I would also give that a try.
