    Can Xbox one turn on and off my Tv-TUNER?


    My Xbox one can turn on and off my TV and Stereo Reciever but it can not turn on and off my TV-Tuner? (From Get - Norway)

    Am I missing something or is it not possible?

    "Xbox on"----TV turns off

    So if I'm watch tv without the xbox one on and decide to turn it on, my tv shuts off. Same with if my tv is already off and I turn off my xbox one the tv turns on. Any idea what I'm doing wrong or where I could find the settings to fix this annoying but
    very minor problem?

    XBOX One - Post Feb Update - TV power commands different and not working for me.

    My TV is a SAMSUNG - LE46C750

    Prior to the Feb update, my XBOX ONE turned my TV on and off when I said 'XBOX ON' and 'XBOX TURN OFF' perfectly. The remote code was a toggle because if the TV was already on, then it would switch off, which I would expect.

    Since the update the behaviour has changed for the worse (but potentially for the better).

    The XBOX no longer sends the ON command to the TV when I say 'XBOX ON'. This is a PITA as I have to grab the remote and turn the TV on manually. However it does switch the TV OFF when I say 'XBOX TURN OFF'.

    Here's where it gets interesting though...

    Scenario A. XBOX ONE is ON. TV is ON. I say 'XBOX TURN OFF'. XBOX ONE and TV turn OFF.

    Scenario B. XBOX ONE is ON. TV is OFF. I say 'XBOX TURN OFF'. XBOX ONE turns OFF. TV stays OFF!

    Previously, due to the toggle, scenario B would have switched the TV back ON. I'm no expert but in my mind this could happen for two reasons...

    Reason A. The XBOX is still sending a toggle but is not sending it in scenario B. Therefore it must know from the HDMI cable that the TV is already OFF. This is new since the update.

    Reason B. The XBOX is no longer sending a toggle but an actual ON or OFF remote command. In my case the remote ON command must be incorrect as my TV won't turn on in any circumstance.

    I have checked all my settings and tried switching back to ECO power mode then back to FAST ON mode, but it didn't change anything.

    Can anyone help me fix this problem so that XBOX switches my TV ON again?

    Have you configured your TV receiver properly? Have you done it manually or automatically? Was it responding in the setup procedure?

    If you were able to set it up, it's it responding to the smartglass TV remote?

    If you could not set it up in the configuration, your receiver maybe is unfortunately not supported.

    If you do not find the brand of your reducer, maybe you can check for a compatible receiver and set up this one instead.

    tv tuner not working every few days since NXOE

    I just saw the same issue last night on my Xbox TV tuner, I tried different USB ports, and that didn't help. What I noticed was that the TV Tuner itself, it usually has the light that stays on the whole time. When you unplug it, then plug it back in, the
    light would come on...then turn off after a few seconds, which is why it wasn't picking up. I thought the TV tuner was defective, as I was going to take it in to the Microsoft Store today and exchange it for another one.

    I have the same issue. Just started yesterday. Guessing it's a problem with the update because I get the splash screen "A new way to watch TV" which was never there before. Clearly this is a software issue. Please fix!

    UPDATE: If I unplug and plug back in the TV tuner, it turns on for about 10 seconds then turns back off again. I tried this with multiple tuners and I'm getting the same result. This is occurring on my often-used Xbox One X as well as my seldom-used Xbox

    Yeah I got the same message to try another TV, When I turned on the Xbox this morning I got the splash screen to set up my TV to watch tv which was strange!!!! How can it be the TV when everything else works on the TV and I have the Antenna
    coax connected to my TV and watching OTA. It's on Microsoft's end!! I bet they are not supporting OTA through the Xbox anymore due to the Series X is not going to have HDMI in and no OTA support. Probably just weening us off of watching TV through our Xbox
    which I am more than disappointed with!!!
    I really hope they don't discontinue OTA tuner support on the Series X. I plan on getting one to replace my Xbox One X. I can see not supporting HDMI input devices but the Series X will still have USB ports, so no reason to not support the OTA tuner (other
    than it's not a money maker). The primary function of my Xbox One S's are TV tuners with some streaming apps and gaming sprinkled in here and there so I would hate to lose that functionality.
