Can xbox one pass thru 5.1 lpcm?

Can anyone from support advise when a patch will be incoming to fix the sound coming thru the HDMI pass through? Even with the patch last night I do not get 5.1 from my DirectTV genie thru my Xbox One......

7.1 LPCM or higher over HDMI is pretty likely, 5.1 LPCM a given.

Source sound will probably continue being compressed using WMA, OGG, AAC and similar. LPCM or ADPCM take up too much space with little to no return in perceived sound quality.

The 360 will send whatever audio output option to select through the HDMI. By default it will be Dolby 5.1, and you can change to stereo LPCM. If the HTiB does some sort of video processing and doesn't simply pass the signal through it could introduce some
input lag, otherwise you should be fine with that setup.

You are confused. The xb1 does support DTS-HD Master Audio. What happens is that the xb1 is doing the decoding and passes the signal to your receiver as uncompressed LPCM. No difference in sound between LPCM and DTS-HD. It's just a matter of which device
is doing the decoding and in this case it's the xb1.

What xb1 can't do yet is pass thru the DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD to your receiver and let the receiver do the decoding. Hopefully MS fixes that soon.

when i set the xbox to uncompressed 5.1 audio, my receiver shows the audio as LPCM, is this right? Are they patching dolby for HDMI as well as optical then? any help or info would be appreciated.
