    Can Xbox One Game DVR record chat sounds?


    Hey so Ive been trying to figure out how to do this for a while because im sure as alot of people know, its much better to be able to record a commentary rather than a voice over after recording. Upload studio supports voice overs which up till now ive been
    using but I cant figure out why microphone chat does not get recorded by the game DVR. If someone knows how to do this that would be great.

    Some info, im using the Xbox one Without the Kinect, and ive tried using skype with another account, party chat, and also in game chat. If anyone has gotten this to work please let me know!

    using the DVR service on Xboxone

    Sorry but you cannot record live TV from the Xbox One using DVR. You can only use the DVR to record Xbox One video games.

    Xbox One DVR will not record

    Guys,

    My xbox one dvr will not work, i can not record via any method, when i go to xbox game dvr and start clip i get an error saying the xbox one can not record that, any suggestions, to re cap, i can record ANY footage or anything with xbox one dvr, thanks.

    No, the Xbox One Game DVR doesn't record chat. It would be great for sure. But no it does not. Perhaps it may come in the future

    Thanks guys. I tried my best to get around it but ill throw a like up for this feature. Well i guess that means im gonna be buying an HD Gamecaster on Amazon in the next month or so lol

    Do the world a favor and buy a proper mic if you're going to do live commentary. Also should add, buy a pop filter as well. Nothing sounds more garbage than someone talking into a headset.

    Maybe if we all spam Microsoft's Feedback system asking them to add support for recording system sounds or even just multiple applications. (I'm using Windows 10 with Xbox support if what i'm saying is strange for Xbox users)

    why not just buy proper capture equipment and do it properly.....

    While I don't have an issue with being able to add your own mic to a video, I think if it was all ingame chat it would just add to silly troll videos.

    Options for all would be nice, but options are complicated to implement.

    Currently the Xbox Game DVR app does not support recording party chat.

    You will have to use external hardware and software to capture party chat and ingame sound/video, like an ElGato.
