    With the recent news that Xbox one players will be able to game on Multiplayer with xbox 360 players opens up a lot of questions that haven't been answered; such as:

    Will Game voice chat work cross-gen?

    Will Xbox 360 players be finally allowed to start a party chat with people playing on the Xbox one? (this seriously should have been a day 1 thing)

    If Xbox one player and Xbox 360 player are friends and are playing the same are they allowed to join together to form a team/platoon?

    Unfortunately, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners are not able to join parties, play-online, nor send voice communications. You will only be able to send Text Messages. Since the Xbox One is on a different system. However, you can still add people who are on the
    Xbox 360 to the Xbox One Friends List.

    i guess there was no development focus on this feature. it would be possible - there is a pretty new game that is claimed to be almost impossible to beat that offers cross-plattform multiplayer on 3 different devices, though party chat is not possible neither

    In theory you can connect a Xbox One S, Xbox One X and Xbox 360 consoles locally. However, the game you intend to play has to support local link play.

    However, for Xbox One games, I know of no game that supports local link play.

    On the Xbox 360, there are several games that allow local network play, and if the Xbox 360 game is backwards compatible, you can also play that Xbox 360 version of the game on your Xbox One.

    However, be aware that you can NOT play the Xbox One version of a game with the Xbox 360 Version of the game. So for example, you can NOT play FIFA 14 on the Xbox One together with a person playing FIFA 14 on the Xbox 360.

    You can however play Halo 3 as a backwards compatible Xbox 360 title on the Xbox One together with someone on a Xbox 360.

    The Xbox One and Xbox 360 games are not cross-play compatible and playable together, both would have to be playing Xbox 360 games that can be emulated on the Xbox one to be able to play together
