  1. Can we raise the character limit for game/app customer reviews to 2,000?

Hello. I have a minor suggestion. First of all, you know how each game and application has a review section for customers who purchased or downloaded the concerned products, right? (You know, the 5-star
ratings at the bottom of the store pages). Some of them are honest, some clever or witty, and others much more fun to read than the games they are reviewing when they are unfavorably received as indicated by the low ratings.

I also like to leave reviews, and my preferred style is to take the time to view all the important aspects of the concerned game and report them fairly, and by "fairly", I mean demonstrating no conflict
of interest or other forms of bias. You can say that it is my hobby to do so. My review becomes informative in the middle of writing until I reach the 1,000 character limit.

Before I get to that, I clearly understand that the purpose of the limit is to prevent lengthy and verbose petty details or nonsense (and probably save some of the review database space), but when it comes
to writing comprehensive and concise reviews, 1,000 characters is not enough. I make my points, but it seems that whenever I do write and cite facts so as to be convincing, I type in too many characters and leave too few for my other important points. I do
go back to simplify a bit, but though it does become better, this normally is not enough. Again, I understand that the character limit is to prevent petty and verbose details, but what good is a review when I cannot convince my readers, when I leave them with
questions yet to be answered? And if reviews are supposed to be as short and concise as possible so as to provide merely a general idea of the topic, you may as well turn to the average score based on the total of the 1-to-5-star ratings. The ratings alone
are not entirely trustworthy since anyone dissatisfied with one thing can leave one star and anyone who is simply a fan can leave five stars, but at least in large quantities they do offer some sense of how popular the product must be. That is why I suggest
changing the character limit to 2,000 characters.

Before you ask, if this is the wrong place to post this type of discussion, I apologize for that, but I found this to be the most relevant to mine. If a 2,000 character limit is too high, at least make
it 1,500 characters; that should be enough to give basic information and be convincing enough. I realize that the review section may not be the place meant for owners to leave comprehensive reviews, but rather for would-be customers to just get an idea of
the topic, but if the idea is for owners to convince would-be's, we may as well do it.

    :)

    backward compatibility uncommon question

So if backwards capatibility stands a chance in the skydrive. But at the moment we can use console to console via hdmi In.

Could you launch an app to save the specs of your connected 360 services. So that we only need to connect once while anyone who cant connect needs to pay a one time fee to get a digital 360 license.

If somday you take any games with a custom map creator engine and raise the limits from it predicesor im sure it would get peoples attention

Can You Raise The Gamertag Character Limit to 16 or more?

Gamertag character limit is & always has been 15 letters which is plenty.

Highly doubt it'll be increased any time soon i'm afraid.

  5. Oh wow. I forgot that this existed. Actually, I remember seeing something like that, but could not make out what, but I now remember what it is and that
Microsoft has a webpage for ideas and suggestions. The only problem is, I do not know how to get to that webpage on the microsoft.com domain without having to search the forums for the link or use Google or Bing.

EDIT: I just realized that Uservoice is not affiliated with Microsoft and that that part of the website was never theirs to begin with.

  6. Meanwhile, I have noticed something about the reviews that makes me laugh. Just minutes ago today, I was looking at the reviews for the "worst Star Wars game of 2015" (Star Wars Battlefront EA), which I agree on, to read negative reviews for the fun
of it, and it all becomes very interesting with the unnecessary censorship when they talk about its game modes such as Supremacy and Walker ****. Why is it in the reviews that I have read that that very a-word in Walker **** is censored? It is as if it can
never be allowed as it always means something inappropriate. This is not the case , and this, along with those of other game modes, is a perfectly legitimate name given to an to describe a game mode. It is like censoring names of people such as Richard "Tricky
Dick" Nixon and Dick Grayson, the real name of DC Comics' Robin, simply because the name can be used to mean something inappropriate. (And yes, Tricky Dick was the nickname of the 37th POTUS. Just do a quick Google or Bing search.)

Microsoft needs to fix this, but be glad that I kept things as appropriate and as least vulgar as possible. Can we raise the character limit for game/app customer reviews to 2,000? :)

    Hi there,

I think the most important thing to leaving reviews, is to keep it short and simple. Reviews are there as an option, but more often than not, a 2 minute trailer, game play or screencaps do the trick.
