can we please move the saves from the cloud to the console

you say you don't allways have to be online to play the xbox one. Well My internet went down. I wanted to play my nba 2k14 season but could not cause it was saved on the cloud. The cloud is nice and everything to store game saves. But what about a option
it backs up the saves that are on the system . I was upset that I could not contenue my season cause my isp has problems. since i could not play multiplayer due to my service being down. I could not play a offline game cause i could not get to my game saves.
I looked to see if I could transfer my saves to my xbox one and there is not a option for this.

Hey there, I'm not sure what you mean by using the transfer cable to run real time? If you want to be able to access your account and game saves on your dads console you can recover your account on his console follow these steps:

support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete

and also back your saves up on the cloud before recovering your account on your dads console and you can access your game saves on any console:

support.xbox.com/.../cloud-save-games

The transfer cable only transfer all content from one HDD to another and that's it.

If the other account was connected to Xbox live you can recover it on your new consoles following these steps:

Also then when you are at your pops you could back-up your saves to the cloud then you will be able to access them from any console:

Nba 2k is a pain and it's the Devs fault. But it does allow you at the start to choose to play an Offline season but you can't use their currency. It was the same on 360 version so in this instance it's really 2ks fault.

 

Wowww, thanks Zig Zag.. i truly forgot about this as it is not mentioned in any of the fancy advertising campaigns that you are truly done in if you want to play offline from a previous save point.

This just goes to prove what a flawed setup Microsoft have in place this generation, and a perfect reason not to buy and Xbox One.

Let me guess - this will be fixed in the next update... Well i'm sorry buy Microsoft have had 8/9 years to perfect and hone the lastest console right down to the finest details, but to me there are just so many gaping flawes in this operating system that
need to be replaced rather than ironed out.

 

Hey Johnny read my post this isn't an x1 issue it's 2k. I played it on 360 and it does the same thing. You can choose at the beginning to lay offline but cannot use their currency for those offline games. I chose to play online with the 360 and ran into
the sAme issue when 2ks servers went down.

 

So Merlin, i after some genuine advice / info... are all game saves for all games stored in the online cloud.

For example i play Battlefield 4 single player which saves to the cloud, could i use a save file to carry on where i left off... if i have no internet ?

Does it store the info as a temp save file on the Xbox One, which then gets uploaded when internet access is back online ?

This topic was about 2k14 I have experience with that. Bf4 I don't have experience with the single player since I only played online. I played the single a little and thought it was garbage and just played online. Someone who has experience with maybe can
answer. I know there are people that did the day one update and only play offline so it saving it somewhere for them. But i do agree we should have an option even if we are online to save on the console. My point was on nba2k 14 if you aren't online it asks
you if you'd like to continue your season offline using skill points instead of currency. As it did on 360.

 

BF4 was just meant as an example, but no worries, i'll have a look on the web etc

 

Save data for all games is on the console as well as the cloud. Go into my games and apps, highlight any game, press menu button and select manage game. It's right there.

 

Thanks Zombie, would you be able to confirm then, that i could go back to a single player game save if my internet was down, and resume a saved game from a previous position as it is also stored on the console - is this correct ?

Basically i ask this as i don't have an Xbox One yet and only have access to a friends console and info from the net and want to gain as much info as possible before making a final decision, and if my offline gaming would be restricted then i won't buy as
this would basically be the same as 'always online needed'.

Also could anyone confirm whether the console can be used without a 'Gold Xbox Live Account' - Does it work the same as xbox 360 where you just get downgraded to silver losing access to multiplayer etc.

 

Yes, if the internet is down you can play offline and resume from where you left off. Offline gaming is not restricted. Apart from multiplayer obviously. Once the internet connection is back the cloud saves will sync up with the console updating game progress.

Of course the console can be used without gold. From 9th June all apps will be accessible without gold, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Gold will be required for multiplayer, plus Games for gold (2 free games a month) and VIP access to big game discounts 50% to 75%
off per month.

So its not other games. I assumed it was every game, I only had tried the nba when my internet went down, and after reading the new update there was a question stating that can they move game saves to the external hard drive. and microsofts response was
no games saves are saved on the cloud. . so that is why I though every game was this issue

 

Wow that is a horrible instance. Most games that I have played/owned have saved the game saves on the console and cloud.
