Can we please have a Windows Media Center app for Xbox One?!

We really need a Windows Media Center app for the Xbox One. This was a feature of the Xbox 360 that I used heavily and I'm tired of having to go back to my 360 to watch content from my PC. This is supposed to be the "ONE" place for all your entertainment
needs... not so far.

Our family loves Windows Media Center. Our family records TV using The Guide on our Media Center computer with three HD ATSC tuners installed.

We have three Xbox extenders that have turned our home into a wonderful multi-media experience. We use
Media Center to listen to our favorite local FM Radio Stations. We
play Music and Picture Slide Shows from our Media Center PC. Please
keep our Media Center PC's up and running. I will not do without
Windows Media Center.

If not supported in future Window releases and/or Xbox One...I may never upgrade extender hardware or operating systems again, sorry to say.

Agreed! Why not even the "System Video/Music Player"? It bothers me I can't watch videos from my USB drive or stream from my computer like you can do on the 360. Good thing I have my 360.

 

I agree, This needs to be fixed, It is extremely annoying to say the least. This system was quite a step backwards in a lot of ways that matter to me. I keep considering making an HTPC, but then I realize I shouldn't have to I just bought a $500 system
that should be able to pull my media from my networked PC.

 

Agreed. I would very much like to be able to stream and choose audio and video from my PC like the 360. I really want to be able to stream audio, as I use to, without having to open freaking xbox music, and run my music in the background while playing games.
Why do we have to beg for all the old features? Why weren't these the starting point for the new system? We are getting some social features back in March, we'll see how well they work, but I am still nervous. Currently, to start a party while in game,
I have to hit the guide button (wait) find the stupid party button (wait) click invite (watch the load circle and wait, wait, wait) click on names, then click party chat and hope that the friend gets the invite and can connect. Who designed this? I am happy
to see a fix, but after watching video I am not sure it is an improvement or even equal to the original system. It looks nice, but they need to get the function before they worry about the form. This brings me back to the windows media, give us the basic
function and ease of use we had on 360. Please start there and then work to improve.
