Can we get a higher GameDVR bitrate please?

I have an external HDD, with the extra bandwidth I've gained from not only the 3.5 drive being faster, but it reducing the bandwidth usage on the internal drive, I would love to be able to uip the GameDVR bitrate.

    Thanx.

    :)

  3. Plex to Xbox One - Alternative to Skifta App

I was wondering what quality (bitrate, resolution, audio encoding) people are using for the Skifta DLNA streaming.

I have Plex serving DLNA and using Skifta to play videos to my Xbox One, but am having trouble finding the perfect encoding combo. I am getting a lot of stuttering with higher bitrates.

It has to record to your HDD surely? If it somehow doesn't, let me record directly to my external HDD so I can gain that bandwidth.

Using cloud storage is no excuse to have lower bandwidths, I mean I have a TB of storage on Google Drive for next to nothing a month and my internet is 250mb, so let me have higher bandwidths.

nope.. all clips that are saved or record that are automatically sent to the cloud and are saved nowhere into your HDD.. the X1 HDD is for the 3 OS's, games and apps...

OP.. buy yourself an external capture device.... get a PC with a HuGE HDD and record as long as you want in the detail you want.... they have to keep it at a bare minimum for the XBL as it will destroy most peoples bandwidth cap... and can you imagine trying
to save locally into the XB HDD?? those drives will fill up in a night

tohellnbak is wrong. The clips are recorded to the hard drive. To be recorded to the cloud directly, your gameplay would have to be constantly streamed to Xbox Live, which would use up nearly 2GB of bandwidth per hour. It doesn't work like that.

The hard drive is constantly recording your gameplay, then if you use "Xbox record that" to record a clip, it's added to your list of clips in Upload and then it gets uploaded to Xbox Live, which is why you can see it on Xbox.com and SmartGlass.

To me, it seems like it's been designed with mobile in mind, cos the clips really don't look great on a big screen because of the low bit rate. 720p is fine, but if they could up the bit rate some more it would definitely be an improvement!

I use Nvidia's ShadowPlay on my PC which records the last 20 mins or you can manually record and it does it at 50mbps and I have never managed to make my 2 TB drive full.

I record gameplay, keep what I want, edit it down, upload it and delete the source files or upload them to Google Drive.

Sadly though One Drive storage is more expensive and it compresses everything, video is only 4mbps on One Drive.... sucks!

    @tohellnbak - It works like this: -

The Xbox One is constantly recording your gameplay to the hard drive, but it's stored in a buffer so it's only keeping the last 30 seconds or so. When you say "Xbox record that", it takes what's captured in the buffer and sends it to your list of clips in
Upload, then it's automatically uploaded to Xbox Live. As a 30 second clip is only about 15MB, it will appear on Xbox.com, SmartGlass etc. pretty much straight away after you've captured it.

If it was completely cloud-based, then it would have to be streaming your gameplay to Xbox Live constantly, so that when you say "Xbox record that", the last 30 seconds of video can be captured remotely. In order to do that, it would use up ~2GB of your
upstream bandwidth per hour, plus it would mean that MS would have to have giant banks of hard drives recording every single Xbox One user's gameplay at all times. None of that makes any sense to do.
