    Can we expect a CD rip feature similar to previous consoles any time soon?


    I was disappointed in Microsoft when I found out that I'm not able to rip my legally purchased CDs to my xbox one. This seems like a pretty basic feature, as it was present on the previous generation of Xbox so when can we expect to see this type of functionality
    on our $500 pieces of equipment that you've sold us on?

    music on my console

    To rip music from a CD it must be a standard audioCD, the type you can play in any CD player. You can do this by going to the Music Library, select the CD as the source and then the Rip CD option.

    You can't trandfer music from an MP3 player or a MP3 disc.

    Ripping Music CD's to my Xbox One

    Ripping cds is the worst feature the xbox has. I am ok with the system playing the cds, and I am ok with the digital music service... But ripping cds goes completely against everything the industry is supposed to be working for.

    The same standards should be held to music as is the games and movies. I believe that ripping cds is a feature that needs to be discontinued and remain unactivated.

    Whats to stop people from ripping the cd and then passing it to all their friends for them to do the same?

    I was not even aware of this feature until a few days ago. I had a japanese soundtrack but I did not have a cd player other than the xbox.

    Not only did it play music not intended for this region.. IT GAVE ME THE OPTION TO RIP THE CD.

    I am unable to support this feature.

    Why can't I burn my cds to my xbox?

    It just isn't doable right now. Perhaps in time this overlooked feature will be brought back. I know I would like to rip CD's again.

    Yes it needs to rip cds. Then the cd can be put away. Everyone that rips cds does not illegally share them.
