Can two players play one one Xbox live gold acct.

My son plays on line with our gold acct. We he has a friend over they both want to play. Is a second acct needed, or can a sencod person sign in with him so the can play together?

was trying to sign in two players using one gold acct and the other as a guest but under the sign in I could not find the xbox live guest. this has worked in Halo so I was wondering why I can not see it under gears

You want to create another profile: Follow these instructions.

1) Press the silver Xbox guide button on your controller to take you to your “Home” menu list with several options.

2) Scroll down to “Create Profile” with the left thumb stick and press the “A” button.

---

3) Select the device that you’d like to save your profile to from the resulting menu, such as your hard drive or memory unit.

4) Press “A” on your selection. This will open a screen where you can type in the name of your profile.

5) Type in your desired profile name using the left thumb stick and the keyboard on the screen. When finished, press the “Start” button on your controller.

---

6) Select an avatar. Press “A” on your desired avatar.

---

Highlight “Done” and press the “A” button to finish creating your profile.

Yes, two players can play with one Xbox Live account. You need to have the "Guest" profile enabled, which is on by default from the console. To make this work, simply have your son join an Xbox Live game, turn on the second controller for his friend, and
then have the second controller join the game as listed by the onscreen instructions. It will ask what profile the second player uses, just choose "Guest" and it will allow his friend to play on Xbox Live as well. Malsidius's suggestion will work, but only
if that second profile has Xbox Live, so your son's friend would need to pay for Xbox Live, whereas the "Guest" account uses your son's Xbox Live at no additional fee.

I am having similar issue. XBOX requires purchase of Live Gold acct - GOT THAT - still cannot get my son to play multi player,

how do I link my Live gold acct to my sons profile (HE IS ON MY FAMILY LIST) so he can play multiplayer games????

There is no way you will be able to play a game like Cod or BF online with two consoles and only one Gold acct and one copy of the game. The publishers won't let that happen. As it stand now you cannot play online with a silver acct. Please share your info
source so I may read it please.

just wanted to add to your question #4 well the accts the same there is no difference but the thing is that on xbox one there is a feature where you can have one account that has xbox live gold and you can choose to turn on a feature to share that xbox
live gold subscription with up to 4 other profiles.
