Can two people join an Xbox party without displaying their gamertag?

Am also having this issue since the update. Cannot join parties, cannot invite people to party i've started either. Error message, 'can't connect to xbox live party'. Can join game invite and can invite people to game without any issues. Will try the above
when I get home, fingers crossed.

Just so that I am clear when you are trying this in party chat? In game chat?

You can hear the other players in the chat but they can not hear you?

Are you starting the party through the stream on the xbox itself? Or are you starting the party through the xbox app on the pc itself?

These are two different things.

I personally have noticed that if I try and join a party through the Xbox itself and not the xbox app I can hear the other people but they can not hear me. If I join the party or start a party and have people join through the xbox app on the PC then it works
fine.

So try that and see if that fixes your problem.

If the account is a silver membership you can join Private Chats which is for two people only. You would have to upgrade to gold to join parties. Also disable some of the restrictions

Hi i have the same problem can not join other people's party's also people can not join mine. and just a bit feed back on the xbox one the party system has always been bad the 360 was just right easy to use and smooth 1 of my biggest misses from the 360
is the party option and i don't like how you can not see who you just played online without going back to dashboard just feels a bit messy ATM and confusing to the average gamer

@ladycazzeh Have you gone to your friends list, go to either your profile or someone that is in your party. When you go right there could be two boxes, one being the party box saying how many people are in your party and the other the game party. Click the
game party and you should be able to set the option to where other players can't join your session at all without invite.
