Can the Xbox one x turn off the console with the controller but turn the controller off at the same time? Like 360 where it auto turns off the controller when it shuts off. Quite annoying actually

brand new xbox one x controller doesn't work correctly

my controller cannot power up the console and when I shut down xbox one x the controller doesn't turn off automatically

when always is turned on all works as intended, the only problem is with power controlling

Xbox 360 Shuts down but wired controller stays on?

Hello everyone! I'm trying to find a solution to this or if anyone has experienced this problem.

I purchased a brand new Xbox 360 slim (the 4g console) within the last 2-3 months and I bought a separate wired controller to use because I don't like using wireless controllers. So here is my dilemma...

I can hold the middle (X) logo button and turn off my console with my controller but the controller will stay lit up. The only way I can turn the controller off is to reach down and manually turn on the xbox and turn it off again. I do not understand why the
controller will not turn off too? It says right on the screen when shutting down the xbox that controllers will be turned of as well yet my controller stays lit up and will not shut off until I turn the xbox on and off again manually.

Anyone got any ideas on what to do to fix this? Any help or information is greatly appreciated!

Yes if you close the console using the controller, both console and controller power off

I did wonder myself. Personally if I have finished using the console and power off, I want the controller to power off, saving the batteries.

That is exactly what it does do. The console will turn the controller off, if you turn the console off. It's always done that.

The headset should work on an Xbox One controller and Xbox Series S/X controllers.

Turn off the controller by holding the Xbox button on the controller until the controller turns off and unplug the headset.

On your console press and hold the Xbox console button until the console turns off, remove the power cord from the console, and wait 1 minute.

Plug the power cord into your console again, turn on the console with your controller, and when you see your console's dashboard connect the headset to the controller and see if that solves the problem.

I have an xbox series x. When turning the xbox on with a controller the system will turn on then immediately turn off and start again.

Does this happen if you use the console on/off button?

figured it out. Xbox series X wont turn off your controller or respond to the controller once its on a off state if your console is in ENERGY SAVER mode. In order to be able to turn your xbox on with the controller you must be in STANDBY mode. Thats a stupid move by Microsoft to force you to keep wasting power in order to turn on you console with the controller.

You can simply press and hold the XBox icon button in the middle of the controller and it will give you three options: Turn Off Console, Turn Off Controller or Cancel. When you select Turn Off Controller, you may still get the 'Reconnect Controller' warning.
