Can the Xbox One display Gamertags of friends when sent a message, invited to party, etc...?

Hello,

I was wondering if the Xbox One is able to display the Gamertag of the person who sent you a message or invited you to play a game or join a party, as it was able to on the Xbox 360. I cannot seem to find a way to customize that, but I am not extremely familiar
with the customization option of the Xbox One.

I really like when I was told who was inviting me to play a game, and I cannot always distinguish which friend is which just from their Gamer picture.

Thanks in advance for your input. If I am unable to display Gamertags in these events, it would be nice to hear some other people's feedback about this, and if someone knows if there is a potential to change this in the future.

All invited Gamertags will not be accepted, and you will not get a message from XboxLive.

 

There are notification pop-ups on the Xbox One console that are similar to the Xbox 360 notifications - they show you their gamerpic, gamertag, and any additional pertinent info (like letting you know if it's a message or party invite). All you have to do
when they appear is to hold down the Xbox button in the middle of your controller and you'll either read the message or join their party/game. If you don't see any notification pop-ups, then you'll probably have to go to the settings menu under preferences
and turn them on. I hope that's enough to be able to help you out; if not, feel free to let me know.

I do indeed see notification popups, but they only contain Gamerpics, not the Gamertag. I would really like to see the Gamertag come up in the notification, rather than having to go through a separate menu to find out. I am not sure if this customization
option is available or not, though.

 

^^You aren't looking if you only see a gamer picture. All invites, messages and notifications include tue persons gamertag

 

I feel that it is very possible I am missing something. However, whenever I see the notification pop up on my screen (during the middle of playing a game, for example) I only ever see the Gamerpic and a message like "Let's Play!" next to the Gamerpic. I
may also be poorly conveying the situation, too.

 

When the notification pops up, it has first an icon for the type of notification (game image for invites, envelope for messages) and then in the exapnded rectangular icon it says the name of the person who initiated that notification.

There are two 'sides' to the notification, the text on it switches after a couple a seconds, for instance from '13 sent you a message' to 'Hold Home to open the message.' - basically, it switches between telling you the name of the person who generated
it and how you can take action on it.

I must have just missed it every time. I prefer the way that it was on the Xbox 360, but I think I can get used to it on the Xbox One.
