Can the Xbox gamepass app detect already installed games??

Unfortunately, there is no function like this, because the files that are downloaded by the Microsoft Store and Xbox application are different from steam, files downloaded by Microsoft Store and Xbox application are encrypted which prevents this recognition of files.

you can install Xbox live app and gamepass app

I have the xbox game pass and I found that I just had to uninstall and reinstall the xbox app(had already installed the 90 gb the previous night). Then run the app the first time, log in and then close the app. Restart the app and it should detect your
flight simulator install. Running the flight simulator from the newly installed xbox app seems to get me through the infinite "press a key" loop.

nope nope nope, the Xbox app is bad enough as it is, I add all gamepass games into steams launcher.

at the moment I am configuring GOG galaxy 2 to be my new frontend launcher for all my game libraries, the Xbox app can be buggy as it is with some games already, I have over 700 games installed on my system and I do not want the Xbox app anywhere near them.

each launcher are their separate own entity and will not care if the same game is installed elsewhere it will install its own version to be used, also there is the odd gamepass version of pc games that have different settings to the pc equivalent as the odd one is actually the console game running as an image.

you get that error because gaming services is not installed or updated, gaming services can only install and launch on standard pc architecture and not arm based devices.

the xbox app requires gaming services to be installed to be able to download most xbox app games (gamepass games).
