Can the parental controls be enabled for an adult account?

I see value in the parental controls, but I wouldn't mind being able to apply these rules to myself. This would certainly make self-discipline easier. It would be awesome if I could put in my own restrictions, and have an accountability partner (Microsoft?
A different Microsoft account?).

You cannot put restrictions on adult accounts.

Like others have said here, it's best to create an overall "Admin" style account, and then make the other profiles on their child accounts where the controls can apply as set in the Settings.

This would be possible if you made your main account a child account. You could set up a second account and have that as the "adult account" and be able to set the privacy for your main "child" account to set timers and some of the rules.

You can try pass key with a friend or family member to restrict certain things like purchases ect, But that is far as it can go sadly. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/security/passkey-purchases

If you are looking to restrict play time just set a timer on your phone so you know when to log off. Having a balance between gaming life and real life is a good idea and for some people a challenge.
