    Hi there

    Some of my sons friends have upgraded to One S and One X and he is saying that he can no longer join their parties. I cant see anything on line that indicates this should happen.

    Is it possible that their new Xboxs have a setting that needs to be changed so that he can join them again?

    All the xbox ones can still join eachothers parties. he might have to hard reset is xbox by holding the power button till the xbox turns off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on. if this don't fix the issue try restarting your router for 30 seconds.

    This should not happen, anyone playing in the xbox one family should be able to party chat. What system they are on should make no difference. In fact, you don’t even need a system to party chat, you can use the xbox app for parties if need be.

    Check that his device is showing as connected while in the party. It may be a problem with the headset itself. Its also worth checking that everyone in the chat has gold.

    We have two consoles in the house - an Xbox One X and an Xbox One S in the kids room. I have no trouble chatting with them (either via game chat or party chat)

    they are all connected so you should have no issues connecting
