    Can someone specify the exact cutoff for External 256GB Hard Drives?


    I want to purchase an external hard drive that "reports" to be 256GB, but I don't know if it has preexisting space taken up or if it's 256,000,000,000 bytes which is really 238 GB. Bottom line I want to verify XBox One will recognize it as a drive to save
    games on before I purchase it.

    The easiest is to add an external hard drive. You can use any hard drive that has at least 256gb and is USB 3.0.

    If you can get an external with a 7200rpm hdd then go for it, but the 5400rpm drives will work just fine. Note that the external hard drive
    MUST be USB 3.0 compliant. Minimum size of 256GB.

    Can you try putting the game on an external Hard drive (USB3.0 and at least 256GB) to see if it's a hard drive issue?
    The thing is I don't have an external hard drive and they cost like 70 bucks. I was just wondering if there was a way to fix it without the external hard drive.

    Buy an external hard drive. It must be USB 3.0 and a minimum size of 256GB. The maximum is 16TB. You can install your games to the external and move games and off your internal to the external drive.
