Can someone please help me connect my Xbox one controller to my gaming laptop?

Chances are you don't need an updated drive. A driver would automatically be downloaded and installed once you plug in your controller into a computer running Windows 7, 8.1, or 10, and whatever gets downloaded from the internet is automatically the latest
driver. If you are running Windows 10, make sure the system itself is fully updated. If a driver isn't automatically downloaded somehow (and this is typically rare), you would be able to perform a manual update through Device Manager. The details are shown

Have you tried a different micro-USB cable? Perhaps your current cable is worn from use, and no longer maintains a stable connection.

You can also consider getting a
wireless adapter, or connecting your controller through Bluetooth (if you have latest controller revision, and your computer has Bluetooth).

Sorry but you said that you have to plug it on your laptop and then that you don't have to plug it on your laptop and phone, so I understand that are 2 different laptops

You're misunderstanding me.

I am using a laptop to play games.

I bought an xbox series controller.

It's connected to my laptop but games are not reading the controller. Meaning the light on the controller is solid and the controller shows as connected in Bluetooth but I can't play games because the controller is unresponsive but only when in a wireless state but functions well in a wired state.

The problem persists on another laptop BUT NOT on my mobile devices.

PLEASE HELP!

this is a known common issue. a few things that worked for me.

1. connect the controller to the laptop rather than xbox. i use the xbox wireless apadter so i can wirelessly connect my controller to the laptop.

or

2. start the xbox then load the game. once in the game start the xbox app and start streaming it to your laptop. then resync the controller to the xbox. this works 8 out of 10 times.
