    Can someone help me with these dxdiag errors


    I recently built myself a new PC and upgraded from windows 10 to 11. I didn't have any problems until recently when I tried to play Sims 4.

    Origin (the client) opens and runs fine and I was able to download and install the actual game but it won't open. If I try to open it from the desktop shortcut it starts running Origin but then nothing else happens and if I start running it through the actual client it closes the client for a moment then reopens it.

    I ran a dxdiag and got these errors back but I'm not sure what it means.

    agree, i re install from fresh once per year as programs being installed and uninstalled leave remnants of trash that starts to bloat the system, i never use third party anivirus rubbish either, there more like malware than actual protection. heres looking at you mcafee, norton and kaspersky lol.

    Hey BelleMS, how are you today? Hope you're well.

    There are a few things we could try Belle.

    So, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

    Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

    Click Check for Updates;

    Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

    Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

    ______________________________________________________________

    Then try this:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for The Sims 4 > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

    Then do the same for the Origin app:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for Origin app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

    Then, try to uninstall and install the game. :)

    If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

    Can someone help me with these dxdiag errors

    I would start off by saying I am not an expert in DXDIAG (frankly, I barely understand any of it) but every entry seems to be pointing to an Update error (given every P1 entry is Update related).

    Do you run 3rd party anti-virus (Avast, Norton, Kaspersky etc)? If so, try disabling it as they can cause no end of trouble...may be unrelated but worth trying

    Given the issue is still happening and you have tried restoring (whilst retaining files), if it was me I'd go for a full Windows 11 reinstall, including a full drive format (wiping everything) so that we are starting from scratch...sometimes it's the only way to troubleshoot (and sometimes WIndows restore doesn't solve issues). However, for one game it is a little excessive...depends how badly you want to play the game
