Can someone explain the camera/scan mini-game?

The in-game "tips" say to position the camera at the Scan, hold "X" and it's supposed to unlock, but I must be doing it wrong.

I see the code, put the camera at it, and nothing... no prompt... help....

Any digital camera can scan QR codes. That's a software feature. It would have been more interesting if they integrated that with their Glass software. You could scan a QR code with your phone camera, and it would start the download on your Xbox even if
you weren't present.

Any digital camera can also scan your face and import it into a game. That's mostly interfacing on the game side. In fact, Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 and 2 both did just that with the Live Vision camera. I didn't care then, and I don't care now.

With "deals with gold" Microsoft will offer discounts each month on games. The first titles offered in June will be Forza 5 and Ryse: Son of Rome (no mention of how much of a discount). Also "in the coming months" Xbox Live
Gold members will see "up to 50-75 percent off certain titles". Microsoft will also launch a "virtual VIP room" exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members which will feature "free games, monthly deals and other great benefits"

Looks like good things to come for gold members

 

If you don't see the 'x' prompt to scan then you must be at the wrong camera. Keep switching cameras till it lines up correctly (some codes are spilt on two different buildings and you have to get the correct angle.

 

Thanks. I watched a YouTube video and figured it out. Some of them are really tricky! I'm up to 15/17 now.
