Can someone be banned for DDosing?

I was playing on my computer a couple days ago when I came across a bad player. After losing the Rocket League match, I contacted him with Game Bar and told him everything that he did wrong, and also said other things that I probably shouldn't have. He then responded saying "yo stop texting before i make u stop texting me" and "ur dog stop playing". After those messages, me being irritated, I responded with "[mod removed] you gonna do". After some back and forth trash talk, he messages me with his last 3 messages to me. He says "ayo guess what" "u aint playin no more". It was then that my internet cut out and the last message I received was "goodbye?" After unplugging the router and whatnot, I was back online and I wanted to know how he got my IP without being in a party with me. I had heard about the website XResolver, so I checked there. Sure enough, I was an account you could look up and he had his blacklisted so no one could see his information. Can he be banned for DDosing? His gamertag is [mod removed] I've been offline ever since then as I'm afraid he might do it again if he sees me online.

Hi there Raptor! I'm afraid not... Unless this person has done something through Xbox Live services and broken the code of conduct/terms of service then there's nothing the Enforcement team can really much do. My advice is that next time if you ever find someone irritating in-game then don't retaliate as it could make the situation worse though in the meantime you can try blocking this person and changing your IP by unplugging your Wi-Fi for 30secs to 1min to provide this DDosser uneasy access to your IP

I reported him about 2 or 3 days ago and, as of now, he is still unbanned and was last online 28 minutes ago, so I doubt he'll be banned, but I ended up getting banned as I was also trash talking. So either they don't care about this or they never investigated. I was banned for 24 hours around 2 days ago.

Ddos doesnt occur over the box live

If it did emit wouldnt be YOU who would be disconnected . The servers would be offline during the attack

Ddos are DIRECT attacks over the internet like smwutches said unless threats or something actually occurs over the network noone can help

You can report his messages or report him via his profile and the enforcement team will investigate, but as ddos attacks are done through your internet and not Live, the enforcement team can only issue a suspension if he's done something through the Live service to violate the code of conduct/terms of service.

Question: Why cant you "name and shame" on the forums. If people are getting hacked and DDoSed then they deserve to have their GT spread around and hopefully someone with some sort of power will see it and get them banned. Reporting on console does absolutely
nothing.
