Can some threaten to have my account permanently banned

Can someone online get me permanently banned?

After getting griefed in-game I sent someone a ban-worthy message.

They began to send me messages threatening to ban me if I didn’t give them in-game items for free. My only responses were a continuous “how will you ban me”.

I got the communications ban I expected as a result of the first message, however they spammed me and said that they were a former Xbox associate and will get me permanently banned if I don’t give them items. I didn’t do anything and blocked them.

Does this have any merit? Should I worry?

If this is a simple and obvious answer I apologize but I am worried as this is my first offense and I am unfamiliar with the ban system.

I didn’t speak in party or game chat at all.

I can attempt to provide the messages if it is needed.

I understand I shouldn’t’ve engaged and learned that lesson. My main question is regarding whether or not I should be worried.

The other person could report you to enforcement. Never engage in mean messages. Always mute and block someone if they are causing problems for you.

Nothing to worry about.The only ones who can ban someone is the enforcement team & they will never tell you that they are a member of the enforcement team or that they can ban you.

This person is just trying to scare you.Report the person via your console if you still can & they will be investigated.

You only risk getting a ban or suspension if you are caught violating the ToU/CoC,which you have already found out.

Also please don't swear or use profanity on the forums.The same rules that apply to xbox live apply to the forums.

Please report his messages and try to get xbox to look at it asap. No one should threaten you ever.

Best thing to do is mute and block them as if they are being annoying to you.
