Can play multiplayer, but cannot join friends parties

It is just on my home network. Hotspotting my phone's data allows me to play with them (obviously unfeasible to use indefinitely however)

Have you tried to use a different network just to check if that will work from there?

This is just to isolate the issue if it's the console or the network connection.

To also clarify, my NAT type says Open when I test it directly but says moderate when I try to test multiplayer specifically. Still doesn't affect joining matchmaking, only issue is the joining friends lobby problem

Thank you for letting me know. Can you please perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware? Make sure to follow the waiting period.

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

i cannot play games, i cannot play multiplayer, i cant login easily to xbox, i cant see friends i cannot join games, i cant join parties. opt me out and fix this before i decide ps4 would be a better console.
