    I have just migrated my mojang account to a microsoft account. when I try to play on the pc i get the "play demo" button instead of the "play" one. I have also tried logging in from a different pc. as soon as I log in it prompts me to buy the game. when i click on buy it recognizes i have already bought the game. i have contacted mojang support and they referred me to microsoft support where i got completely lost. please help.

    Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

    It's not in the migration instructions, but after the migration, you have to ADD a NEW account, and link it to your Microsoft account. Startup will take longer, but it sure works.

    On the login prompt in the java launcher, go back. You'll see the mojang account you had been signing into - ignore it, and add a new account to the launcher. Using the email address associated with the microsoft account you just migrated to, sign in with the email address and password of your microsoft account. It's not an elegant migration on the UX side of things, but it does work.

    These issues of losing a game license after the migration - showing as not owned both on the launcher and the Minecraft website - are handled by Mojang support. Please try to contact them, but make sure you are using the right account for the migration:

    Had you purchased both Minecraft Java Edition and for Windows on your Mojang account?

    Are you sure you are signed in with the correct Microsoft account used for the migration? Your username remains the same on the Minecraft website before and after the migration?

    When transferring Mojang account to Microsoft why do we have to re-purchase the game?

    It still says the same thing after closing all connecting accounts and resigning into my Microsoft account. It lets me sign in with my Microsoft account and then tells me I can only play the demo and need to re-purchase Minecraft. This is getting ridiculous, I just want my game to work like it did before the whole migration thing. It is a scam to FORCE players to migrate and then tell them they need to repay for a game they have been playing for X amount of years.
