Can one Xbox One controller be connected to the xbox and PC at the same time?

I was wondering if it was possible to have the one xbox one controller connected to my Xbox One and my PC at the same time so I wouldn't have to reconnect to the other device. I noticed when I plugged in the receiver and connected the controller to my PC
it stopped connecting to my xbox one. Any advice about this?

Wireless Adapter for Windows and Xbox

Hi,

does anymore know if a wireless One controller connected to a Windows PC with wireless adapter interferes with an Xbox One console nearby or can a wireless controller only be connected to one device at the same time?

Multiple xbox's on home network

I have two xbox's connected wirelessly and one hardwired to the same router and they can't seem to all be connected (or even two at a time) at the same time. There is also a laptop that connects wirelessly and one pc connected too. Is there a way to set
it up so that more than one xbox can be connected to xbox live at the same time?

Hi,

No sorry, this isn't possible. The controller can only be linked to one device at a time. To use it on another device you'll have to re-sync.

Which is why I bought a second controller, less messing around.

Based on the Xbox support article, it says "With Xbox Wireless connections, you can connect 8 Xbox Wireless Controllers at the same time, or 4 controllers that have Xbox Chat Headsets attached. If the controllers have Xbox Stereo Headsets, only 2 can be connected at the same time."

You actually only need one Xbox wireless adapter to connect multiple controllers. If you want to use two adapaters in one single PC, it may work but if it confuses the system, you must unplug the other one.

When a cord is connected to the Xbox One controller it turns off the wireless function to work as a wired controller. Because of this the suggestion of using a USB wall charger
WILL NOT work.

The only way that you can use your Xbox One Controller on a W10 PC and play Xbox whilst charging the controller at the same time is to stream the game to your PC with the Xbox App if your PC meets the minimum requirements for it. If you don't want to do
this then the only thing to do is just connect a USB directly from your Xbox to your controller

In case there's confusion, the Bluetooth part in the controller is only for connecting it to a Windows PC. Bluetooth is not used on the Xbox One S, as the console does not actually have a Bluetooth chip.

The Xbox One S controller still connects to the console with the same wireless protocol as any standard Xbox One controller.

It even works vice versa! You can also connect a regular Xbox One controller to an Xbox One S.

the Xbox 360 adapter will not work for the Xbox One controller.

You can however use any standard (micro) usb cable to connect the Xbox One controller to the PC.

Or if both controller (newer versions) and PC support blue tooth then you will be able to connect it wirelessly
