    recently got a new WiFi router and cannot connect to the next WiFi. Tried several things but still no luck getting through

    Can not connect to wifi

    I have recently moved into my new apartment and have had charter internet installed. I have a netgear nighthawk as a router that I used at my last place and worked great.

    Problem: My xbox one will not connect to my wifi.(password is correct). Says cant connect try again.

    Solutions tried:

    1. hard reset on xbox.

    2. reset modem and router.

    3. turned off all possible signal disturbances. (third party)

    4. Cleared alternate MAC address

    (Can connect to hot spot on phone.)

    Lack of connectivity might be a Issue ensure everyone is connected to the home LAN (WiFi or cable), free WiFi or someone else's open WiFi can cause problems. If the server and players are not all connected to the same connection in the same way, cable
    vs WiFi, that can also be a problem. Hope this help you out.

    is your console connecting via lan or wifi, if by wifi can you connect by using 2.4ghz as this sometimes works.

    Hi there,

    simple question indeed, but as far as I know there is no technical details about that.

    I do know that when a cable is connected you won't be able to select Wifi (connect to the wifi network) as network option.

    And since as far as I know the Wifi option is only one that can connect to a wifi network, it in itself isn't broadcasting in a way that other devices can find or connect to the console via Wifi, as in it's not a hotspot etc.
