can not connect to a friends party or game

for 2 days now my friend and I have been trying to play dead island riptide but we can not join each other in a party or in game we keep getting told could not connect to party and game session unavailable we've both tried restoring our network adapters
to factory settings and even clearing the cache to no avail we can join other players but not each other we have also tried joining another friend but it will kick 1 or both of us saying could not connect to other players we've had this problem before but
clearing the system cache worked on all occasions up until now is there anything else we can try or is it on microsoft's end any assistance is appreciated

Can't connect to friend after update.

Suddenly my friend and I can't connect to each other since the update. We could connect before. Both of us,have open nats. We can connect if somebody else has a party or game, but not directly. Help!

its been 6 days and still no reply dose anyone have any info that may help my friend and I this is getting to be a bit ridiculous we can join all of our other friends but not each other again I ask if anyone knows something that may help please share

Can you connect to your friend while you are alone? Can you connect to a third party? and then connect to your friend? Can your friends connect to each other? What happens when you and your friends try to connect?

This is not related to NAT. Me and my friend are OPEN, but cannot connect to each others party. We have to private chat each other lol. Its just our connection towards each other. I remember a friend of mine switched to verizon and I can connect to his parties
without any issues now. How about you and your friend unplug your router/modem for a whole 5 minutes and then check the results afterwards. If you can connect to my party chat you are perfectly fine. You are not the only one. True fact: The same friend I had
a hard time connecting to, on my PS3, I could not connect to his game... lol, But on Xbox LIVE i can join his game but not party... its weird but not an issue with Xbox LIVE.
