    Can not add payment info because of location and language!


    Hello!

    I am Norwegian and I live in Norway. But I need to have the location and language details on my Xbox One set to United Kingdom and English in order to have full access to all the Kinect voice abilities and so on.

    The problem occurs when I want to buy something in the Store, because I can not add my VISA or PayPal details as long as location and language are set to United Kingdom and English, because this requires a UK address as you know. So every time I want to
    buy something I need to change the location and language setting to Norway and Norwegian, restart the console, buy the game or item, change the location and language back again, and restart again...

    As you can imagine, this is extremely annoying and unpractical. So i asked a Xbox Live Chat guy what to do. He sad to "migrate my live account". I have tried to figure out what this means and actually does to my account, and how it will affect me, but I
    can not understand it. What am I changing from and what am I changing to? As I said I live in Norway and I am NOT moving to another country! So why would I migrate my account out of the country if this is what is suggested? I dont get it.

    Can someone please help me out? Thanx. Can not add payment info because of location and language! :)

    Dear support team, i live in Russia but i prefer to download games in English. After i download some games only in Russian with no option to change it to english, i changed my location to US, because there is no option to chage language without changing
    location. And now system doesnt accept my billing information and says that i have no valid payment option. And when i try to add my info again i have only options to enter US address only. i changed my location back to Russia but i gues not completely because
    billing information insist on Russian adress.

    Please help me to migrate back and make my language setting English if possible.

    Sounds like the main issue here is your physical location will not work with your gamertag location. Because your tag is set up for US and you live in Belgium you cannot use the payment info you provided because it must match. I think you'll find that
    there won't be an issue with payment if you switch your tag to Belgium. Of course you'll have to stay there for a minimum of three months when you do that.

    What he is basically suggesting is to migrate your account region to your home country, Norway. You can read more about region migration here -

    support.xbox.com/.../change-region
    This would simplify things as far as making purchases. Otherwise, you will either need to continue making purchases as you have been, or somehow get a UK payment method.

    to my account) but this only shows up when my location and language is set to Norway/Norwegian. As soon as I set location and language to UK/English I am unable to enter any payment info.

    So.... what location/language should my Xbox One be set on when I migrate my Xbox Live Account to Norwegian as you say I should do??

    Are you SURE this will work and not mess with my stuff? Thanx for the reply.

    Actually the way you have it set now is that you have a UK account as well as a Norwegian account. You have both countries in your billing information which is why you're able to switch between the two when you make purchases. You would really only need
    to migrate your account region if your account was only set to one region.

    Payment methods will only work for the region they are created for. Which is why your debit card will only work when you are set to Norway. You would need to add a UK payment option in order to make payments while set to the UK.

    OK so... I spoke to a second Microsoft Support person. He could confirm that my Xbox Live account is set to Norway (as I thought). He suggested talking to PayPal about the possibility of having a UK account with them even though I live in Norway.... OK so
    I asked even though I thought that sounded a little weird. And as I suspected this is not possible because you also need a UK address in order to have a UK PayPal account.

    So... There is no use in migrating my Xbox Live account to UK because I do not have a UK address and therefor I have no way of getting a UK payment option. Same thing goes for PayPal.

    Guess all of us in Norway who have Kinect and actually want to use it have to change our location / language setting and reboot our console every time we want to buy something in the Store. Not a good patent Microsoft...

    Why is it not possible to have locale set to Norway (where I live) and still have language set to English??

    Why am I forced to have Norwegian language so that no voice commands works with Kinect?? I do of course change my locale to United Kingdom in order for this to work, but as the previous post tells you, this means I have to change both location and language
    every time I want to buy something in the store! (Which means two reboots etc). WHY MAKE IT LIKE THIS?

    Please Microsoft, tell me you are going to fix this and soon! Please!
