Can MS Reconsider an Overpriced Xbox Repair Quote?

I have been having problems with my Xbox One X for a while now. As it’s out of warranty, it will cost £236.40 to get Microsoft to repair it. This is a generic and absurdly overpriced quote from Microsoft as they’re probably assuming my Xbox is completely
dead when it isn’t. In fact, I could fix the problems with the Xbox myself for potentially as little as £10 (£50 at the most).

However, fixing it myself would require removing the warranty sticker and I had planned on trading-in my Xbox when Series X launches. Retailers will likely not accept an Xbox without a warranty sticker and, for this reason, I would rather Microsoft fix the
issue. For the price they’ve quoted, however, I could buy a pre-owned Xbox One X or a brand new Xbox One S and have money to spare.

As the issues have been caused by Microsoft’s own design flaws and poor-quality components, I believe they should be offering free repairs. I don’t expect this however and would be willing to pay up to about half the price Microsoft has quoted. Is there
any way I can get Microsoft to reconsider the generic price they've quoted? Is there anybody I can speak to about it?

[I posted a discussion about the Xbox One X’s hard drive issues, what causes them and Microsoft’s failure to acknowledge the problem. It contains more information on the specific problems of my Xbox One X for reference. I’ve linked it here:

I see little way around the quote. I suggest just purchasing a refurbished one.

Nope, you need an official Xbox HDD unfortunately.

It actually doesn't have to be the official one. I have a 3rd party harddrive and it works just fine. Also saved me $80 by not buying the overpriced MS one.

    Xbox live price increase!!!

Don't buy direct on MS Store, Buy in retail prepadi Xbox Live Gold card.

Xbox Live Gold is not overpriced.
