Can microsoft give refunds?

So i have a few games on demand that keeps saying disc unreadable, i talked to xbox support they gave me steps to do and i did it about 15 times and still getting the same message over and over again. And now i cant play any game on my xbox.

I bought & downloaded a game by accident because i was only looking to see if the game had a trial, and it didn't. I went to look at the photos but instead i pressed A two times and bought it by accident. They took 43 dollars out of my account. So I want

Sounds like your Xbox is the problem. Not the games. If it is still under warranty, send it in for repair. If you warranty has expired, you can pay a fee to have it repaired, or you could just buy a new console. You can redownload any games you have purchased
from the marketplace.

Games on demand getting disc unreadable? The only downloaded game I had that message pop was Yugioh. It doesn't even make sense. How is the disc unreadable if it's a file on my Xbox? Silly Microsoft.

How much do you think it will cost because i have the old white 360 so it should be cheap right?

 

Last I knew the price was about $100 regardless of which version of the 360 you had.

 

Well the console was originally designed to only read Xbox 360 games off the dvd drive with disk games. Maybe when they update it they did so with a use of a virtual dvd drive in which the console gets tricked into believing the hard drive installed games
are retail disk games. Maybe when you launch a game from the hard drive it automatically checks the dvd drive for a game. If the dvd drive is faulty it brings up the cant play game error.

 

There have been a few games that will automatically give this error regardless of if there is something wrong with the disc drive, Forza Horizon and GTA Vice City immediately spring to mind.

Did you make a post in the support section at all? I would make a post here before going with the repair option as some of the ambassadors know their stuff when it comes to these situations, I'm not one though, haha.

Sorry I didn't see that last bit he had on there, I was specially referring to the games on demand versions though. It's fairly common to see disc unreadable for those, I see it a lot in the support forums.

If he can't play the disc based version though, then yeah looks like it might be a repair job.

 

They can give a refund, sure.

They aren't going to give you a refund though ; )

 

I think MS will exhaust all possibilities before giving you a refund. Yes, they do give them, but it is very rare. I'm not tech-savvy enough to offer up any suggestions for help compared to what support is telling you. It very well could be an issue with
your Xbox.

 

Contact xbox support, they should be able to handle your problem. Are you able to play disc based games, CDs, DVD movies, etc?
