Can Microsoft Credit Money Buy Xbox Live?

I go to my local store and see that Xbox Live 3 Month cards were sold out, so I bought a $25 Microsoft card. My account just went silver so I wanted to get back on Gold. I redeem the code and go to buy Xbox Live. It gives me a message saying that Xbox credit
isn't a valid payment method. I go to the website it directed me to (commerce.microsoft.com) and it showed that I made the purchase, but it didn't give me the option to buy anything or to make it a valid option. My big question here is
'Can xbox credit money buy Xbox Live?' If I can't, then it seems that I got completely ripped off. I hope someone can help me get resolved

By the way even if I was able to buy LIve, Tax prevents me from buying the full 3 months and forces me to buy month to month.

Not able to use Microsoft Account Money to buy XBOX 360 content

I have a Xbox one. I used to own a Xbox 360. I have some money in my Microsoft Account balance. I wanted to buy some backwards compatible Xbox 360 game with my Microsoft Account money. But, when I try to buy it from both xbox.com website and XBOX one store,
I only see my credit card as payment option. If I click "Change Payment Option", it shows my other credit card linked to Microsoft account; but no option to select Microsoft Account.

If I try to purchase XBOX one content, I see my Microsoft Account available as a payment option. Can anyone help me with how I can use my Microsoft Account money to buy XBOX 360 game?

You can not use the money in your Microsoft Account to purchase xbox live gold. You will need to use a credit card or buy a prepaid subscription card

 

No, you cannot by gold time with your account balance.

It is something that definitely needs changing.

A different store could have had the correct card.... Depending on the store, the Employee should have known...

May I ask how Tax prevents you from a purchase?? Please look into a prepaid Credit card...

In fact, Account is not the correct word to use, ANYONE with a CC (Prepaid) can use that account for ANYTHING!!!!!

 

I would suggest a convesation with an adult........

Yes, MS can credit money, You need a valid reason.

Buying the wrong card is NOT a valid reason. No need for a change IMO.

 

Did you ask when you bouht the card if it could be used for buying the subscription ? If you didnt theres no rip off, you need the specific subscription cards.
