Can loot boxes purchasable by real money be ethical?

I agree. Like I mentioned, with a Kinder Egg or baseball cards you actually get something that can be used basically however you want. You can collect the prizes and hold onto them, play around with them, trade them, sell them, etc.

In games, the loot boxes are only good for that specific game / mode, and often times, they may only be good for one round. Can't do anything else with them besides use them in that game.

It's a subject that can be viewed both ways good and bad. I dont mind having loot boxes that are there to buy but I believe there should be controls and balances.

For instance in believe they should not have the option on games for children. You should be able to turn off the option to buy and also having an option in game to earn the reward as opposed buy it.

As an adult i dont want every option decided for me but likewise I would like to know there is a way to turn it off.

Even though they are optional, I think they take away the games real fun. Im all for it for guides but these seem like cheats.

I have to agree with others. If it's cosmetic, it's not a big deal for me, as it won't impact the gameplay, but for the ones that unlock things in the game to progress faster? That's pay to win and shouldn't be allowed.
