Can iPhone play music with Xbox One?

Plugging an iPhone into Xbox 1

I heard you could plug in your phone to the Xbox 1 and then play music on it while you're streaming. But i don't think it would work for the iPhone, true? I searched it up and all i saw was that it wouldnt work with an iPhone to the 360 to play music but
nothing about Xbox 1. Also i plugged my iphone into the ports that are available and it didnt work, so I don't know how to broadcast & then play music.

iPhone connection

Just wondering, can the 360 play music off of the iPhone? For example, if I connect it to the console, can I play music through it?

You can't copy music from iPhone/iPad but if you go to the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and search for AirMusic that will let you play the music from the device through your Xbox.

The long way would be to copy your music to a PC, burn it to disc as an audio disc then use your 360 to rip the tracks off the CD again so you can have it on your console.

OR

Copy the music to a USB drive and play the music from there.

the music on the ipods and iphones is in hidden folders which is why only itunes and select non apple approved programs can access the music on it. i would suggest getting a small cheap 4Gb Usb and using that as xboxes can play music off them.

plug your ipod into a pc, and try to play music off it using windows explorer. you cant. the xbox works the same way.

edit: niether Sony or microsoft can add ipod/iphone support without apple giving them Root access.

I should specify, I am hoping to listen to this music while playing games, rather than just using the xbox as what would effectively be a fancy sound mixer

. That means the APP is out.

I can already do this with music on my iphone thanks to a handy iphone app, and I can find certain songs but not others on the network drive... not sure why.
