Can I use the usb-c port to charge the rechargeable batteries?

Hello David, only the Microsoft Play & Charge kit can be charged this way, normal rechargeable batteries, need to be charged in their own electric chargers.

A micro USB cable will not charge rechargeable AA batteries. It should charge the battery pack from the P&C kit.



Keep in mind it cannot safely charge rechargeable AA batteries. There's more than one chemical mix used to create AA rechargeable batteries. That's why the P&C kit packs use a different set of terminals inside the controller.

btw....just asking to be safe, a type c micro usb cable plugged into the computer port won't actually try to charge the ordinary batteries, would they? Or should I remove the batteries while using the cable? I heard that only the charge and play kit can recharge them while inserted.
