  1. Can I use normal HDD in XBox360?

Unfortunatelly I bought 4GB version of XBox360. I attached 16 GB USB drive but it did not help much, it can contain just two games that must be inserted in XBox. And I cannot download games from XBox Live into this USB drive either :-( So I have to buy the
hard drive. I can buy 2 TB standard drives for the price of XBox 360 500 GB drive. But would it work? What kind of HDD interface is usd in XBox? Does it block or limit hard drive of other vendors? Thanks

    :)

    Unformatted HDD and updates

Funny thing is I can power up and run the xbox with the unformatted internal HDD, no thumb drive attached. Ok so I understand that I can buy an HDD and use it as normal but will I be able to download and install xbox live updates again or will this problem
    persist?

Can I use normal HDD in XBox360?

Even if you used a 2 TB hard drive on the 360 you would still only get 32 GB of storage space.

Your best bet is to buy an official Microsoft hdd for your 360.Don't get a 3rd party hdd as they will cause no end of problems.

Can't play original Xbox game "The Suffering" on Xbox 360

There are official 320gb HDD's but these were only available with the S-series of the Xbox360 and on their own for a brief while, unfortunately they weren't available mass-produced for long.

For reference the following HDD sizes apply to the following consoles:

    Xbox360 (original): 20gb, 60gb, 120gb, 250gb.

    Xbox360 S and Xbox 360 E: 4gb (no HDD included), 250gb, 320gb.

Memory Units, (Xbox360 original only): 64mb, 256mb, ("Arcade" Xbox360 only), 512mb; some of these come bundled with games.

Official USB sticks: 8gb, 16gb, (you can use most USB sticks and memory cards plugged into a reader as long as they're between 1gb and 32gb and formatted for the Xbox360, you can only use up to 2 at a time though.

At the time of writing, external HDD's are only supported on the Xbox One.

As mentioned above there are a lot of fake HDD's on the market, if you feel you've received a fake product the best thing to do is stop using it immediately as this may have an adverse effect on your console and potentially your account, and also report
    the seller if necessary.

Also contact Xbox Support if you need help finding out whether the HDD is official or not, their numbers are 1-800-4MY-XBOX in the US and 0800-587-1102 in the UK, both are toll-free.

    Help

I think people are misunderstanding this question.

I do believe he is asking can he put an original xbox360 hdd into a newer model xbox360, this is possible being they both use a SATA connection, but it is not ok for you to do. opening the hdd to remove the hard drive itself will void your warranty. and
always opening an xbox or anything attached to it should only be done by an official xbox service provider.

so in short terms you will need to buy an new/ or used official hdd just to be safe and not void yourself of further assistance if needed on your xbox.
