Can I use my Surface Go 2 as a monitor for my Xbox Series S?

I travel a lot and I also love playing video games. I would like to know if I were able to hook up my Xbox Series S to my Surface Go 2 via USB-C to HDMI and basically use my Surface Go 2 as a external display for gaming on-the-go.

    :)

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today ALECBXSCETTO

Sorry to say but nope. 99% of the laptops doesn't have a video-in / HDMI-IN signal , only an output sign.

So, if you connect the console to a laptop. Nothing is going to happen

Xbox Series S - What are your thoughts ?

So, we finally got to see the next gen "little brother" Series S. It's kept to a design not far from our current One S, and i my opinion looks pretty good. Properly not one that i am going to pick up. I will definitely go Series X all the way.
But a nice cost efficient alternative and a great entry model for new xbox players.

What are peoples thoughts ? and are you thinking about picking it up ?
The way i see it, i don't see the Series S as an entry model, it depends on what the resolution of TV / Monitor is being used, because the Xbox Series X is more aimed at 4K gaming and the Xbox Series S is more aimed at 1080p / 1440p gaming,

For someone who does not have / own or does not plan to upgrade to a 4K TV / Monitor, then the Series S is perfect choice to get and will save you money by not paying for something that you'll never get to see or use the full potential of the Series X,

It make no sense to me why anyone would buy a Series X just to play at 1080p, but there will be people out there who will do just that, to me, that's just wasted money in my opinion,

    My thoughts are...

If your gaming at 4K, go with the Xbox Series X,

If your gaming at 1080p / 1440p, go with the Xbox Series S,

I have a 4K TV and a 4K Gaming Monitor so for me, I'm getting the Xbox Series X.

Xbox Elite 2 Design Lab Controller Extended Warranty Question

Hi there, my name is Gerardo and I'm an Xbox player like you. I'll be happy to help.

it seems that the Elite Series 2 controllers are eligible for the "Microsoft Complete" plan, which provides extended coverage and support for your controller for up to 3 years. This coverage even includes damage from accidents, not just defects. Just keep in mind that after purchasing the controller, you have up to 45 days to request the plan.

You can find all the information about it, including how to get the plan, at the following link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/store/b/microsoft-complete

At the bottom of the previous website, it indicates that this plan is also available for Elite Series 2 controllers. I will immediately quote the part where this is indicated:

"Microsoft Complete is available in select markets for Surface Go, Surface Pro, Surface Laptop, Surface Book, Surface Studio, Surface Type Cover and Pro Keyboards, Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X, Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 and must be purchased at the time of device purchase or within 45 days after purchase with device inspection. In European countries, Microsoft Complete must be purchased from the same retailer from which the original device was purchased."

I hope this information is useful to you.

    Best regards.

    HDMI Xbox Series S/X

    Hi,

There is more than enough bandwidth for 1440P @120Hz with HDR on an HDMI 2.0 Monitor. On the current consoles Microsoft decided to lock HDR to 4K displays, but with the Series S that won't be an issue anymore.

HDMI standards are backwards compatible, so you won't need an HDMI 2.1 compliant Monitor to use Series X or S on an older monitor or TV that only has HDMI 2.0.

Xbox One X and S can be very fussy when it comes to full monitor support. But if you bought a monitor that fully supports the Xbox One X then it should support the same features on a Series X/S.

My advice would be to check reviews of monitors actually running on the current consoles with 120Hz support. There are loads of videos on YouTube. Just looking at the specs on a website may not be enough.

I have recently brought a 165hz monitor to use with Xbox series s but I cannot turn on 165hz

Hi Arturo, I’ve tried 1080p with 120hz, and it doesn’t work. 720 didn’t work either. I’m using the hdmi cable that came with my Xbox series s. The monitor I am using with my Xbox is purchased new, and is 165hz and 1440p. Is the issue with the hdmi cable I am using or my monitor?

    Thanks

    Amanda
