Microsoft points were discontinued in 2013 so they can no longer be used to purchase anything. If you mean currency on your Microsoft account balance, then yes.

Those are two different things.

Gamerpoints are points that you can get by completing or doing things in games. That is just something to show off between friends.

Microsoft Points is like a currency on Xbox LIVE, you use them to buy things such as game add-ons, themes, gamerpics, movies and other things on Xbox LIVE.

Unfortunately at this time, currency cannot be used for Xbox Live Gold Subscriptions. Currently the only subscription you can buy using your currency is a Music Pass subscription on Xbox One.

The most important, is my NickName/GamerTag. I do not want loose that. I use that nickname in every game/website/registration and I do not like have other NickName/GamerTag.

By other way, is the GamerTag is on my MSN/Hotmail Account where I have all my services and I do not want to change that too.

The problem of this is simple:

A) Or change the country of my account to US

B) Or found a website for buy Microsoft Points for Mexico and can download the "code" for put in my account and have the points I buy.
