Can I use my gold subscription over two Xbox one consoles at home.

Hi,

Forgive my ignorance but can I use my gold subscription over two xbox consoles, my son gs a xbox one s and I have an xbox one x. I pay for gold so my son can play online etc. I then bought myself a xbox one x console therefore can I use the same subscription
to enjoy gold as well.

One account can share the Gold features via the Home console setting, which will allow other profiles to use Gold features if the account that has set the console as Home console has a Gold subscription, please see this link for more information:

So it works different from your impression, but should still be an option for you to use 1 Gold subscription.

Regarding the now two gold subscriptions, you may want to cancel the one that might not be needed via the steps mentioned here

Depending on how you're using the consoles, you could need at least 2 subscriptions. You can share gold via the Home setting. Yes you can! And not just for Gold, you will only need to buy things (games, memberships, etc....) on one account and both console can use that content!

What you need to do is to set the account that you buy everything with as a home Xbox on the Xbox that you don't sign in with.

For example in your situation lets say you buy everything on your son's account. you will need to download your sons account on your own console and sign in and go to settings > personalization > home Xbox > set this as my Home Xbox.

And DONE!

I made my sons xbox the home xbox but i still don't have gold on my console, I have my own profile, are you saying i have to use my sons profile to get gold. Sorry I'm a dinosaur when it comes to these things.

If you bought the gold on your son's account, he would need to set your console as his Home.

 

Yes, the profile with the gold needs to be set as home Xbox. If you have set your sons *Profile* (not Xbox) as a Home Xbox on your Console (Xbox) then you will need to buy the gold membership for your son so you can use it.

The other way around: If you have the gold membership, you need to download your profile to your sons console and set it as home Xbox there.

OK, my sons console is now the home xbox, my profile is on his account and vice-versa, I'm part of the family as regards consoles etc he invited to play a game, we launched it but it still says I need gold. What am I not doing wrong??

 

It may take up to 24 hours for it to have its affect. Try it again tomorrow and make sure to do a hard reset (You can do a hard reset by holding the power button on your console for 10 secconds and turning it back on) before you try it.

If it did not work then you must have done it backwards (which I don't think you did from what you said).
