  1. Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

Hi everybody I'm new to these forums. I recently bought my xbox one about 2 weeks ago being unaware i needed a hdtv. Anyway I connected my xbox one to my monitor via a HDMI-DVI converter. The picture looks fine however I receive no sound. I was wondering
if I bought the xbox one stereo headset which comes with headset, headset adapter and usb..would this allow me to hear the game sound through my headset that is unable to be played through my monitor? Any information will be appreciated. I really would not
like to spend unnecessary money if I don't have to at the moment.. Life of a college kid.

    :)

  4. Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

    Hi Legend of RDG

    If I understand your question...

Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

(The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)

The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too

  5. Sorry if I left any confusion. I can't listen to any audio due to using an hdmi -> DVI converter for my monitor. My question is if I got the XB1 Stereo headphones which includes the headset adapter and usb in the packaging. If i would be able to bypass the
fact my monitor can not play sound. In which case Sound would play on my headset.

  6. Yes, this product
    www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset

will produce sound from the xbox one controller to the xbox one stereo adapter which the headphones will allow you to plug the XBox Headphones in and hear sound and chat with the mic.

watch the video in the link above. At the end it shows the adapter, and the cord on the headphones that you would plug in.

  7. Just tested this and it will work.

Xbox One connected to a monitor using an HDMI Cable. Set the Display settings to DVI. Meaning no audio is being transferred over the cable. Attached Headset Audio adapter to an updated xbox one controller and plugged in the Xbox One Stereo headset to the
adapter, got Stereo sound on the headset without any issues.

Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

Can I use the Xbox Live Chat for it? Or I need to have a XB1 Stereo headset to achieve sound?

  9. For compatible headsets, the stereo sparer will enable you to hear game sounds, chat sounds and talk to other gamers if your headset has a compatible mic.
