Can I use a third party HDD for my Xbox 360 Slim? (To play BF4)

Hi! I just bought Battlefield 4 Limited Edition for my Xbox 360 (Slim 4gb), but when I tried to install it, it said that it needs an Internal HDD to install the HD textures! I didn't knew that it was a mandatory to run this game! And here, we don't have
any shops which sell official Microsoft HDD for Xbox Slim. I have to order it online and it will take 3-4 days to get delivered! So, can I use a third party HDD for my Xbox 360 Slim? A Hitachi or Seagate's 2.5" Laptop HDD? And, will I be able to play Battlefield
4 with that? Can I play online and most importantly would I get banned for that? I don't want to flash the Hard drive! Please help me out! It's very urgent!

    TIA!

    :)

    installing custom hard drive?
will i get banned for using a custom 320gb hard drive?
There are no authorized third party HDD accessories for the 360.

Use of unauthorized third party accessories is prohibited as per the Terms of Use.
By definition, using a third party HDD requires "hacking".

I need to get a hard drive that supports original Xbox Games

Yeah... don't buy those? The only supported HDD is a Microsoft official HDD. There are no authorized third party HDDs for the 360. Use of an unauthorized accessory is prohibited as per the Terms of Use.

All that eBay seller is doing is using graphics that look official to try and sell a third party drive. All official MS HDDs support any original XBOX title that is on the Backwards Compatability list.

Sorry but you will need an official microsoft hard drive.A 3rd party one probably wouldn't work anyway.

It does say on the game case that you need a hdd to run Battlefield 4

I also wanted to add that if you want to order a HDD from an online source (I would recommend a legitimate retailer, you should avoid sites like ebay or amazon) but can't wait to play you can try a usb stick. The Xbox will support external storage device
up to a maximum of 32GB per device.

No! Not flash drive! I know that it doesn't work with a flash drive. I meant Hard Drive. A third part Hard drive. Will it work? At least, up to 32gb?

Any external hard drive will be automatically considered a flash drive by the xbox.

Hi, You must install to an Xbox hard drive, external storage devices aren't an option sorry.

    .

    help.ea.com/.../battlefield-4-xbox-360-install-guide

    .

Note, the above-required and below-additional installations can only be installed on Xbox 360 hard disk drives, and cannot be installed to USB drives, or other alternative storage devices.

    .

There are of course third party hard drives for the Xbox 360 that look similar to the official thing and indeed would more than likely allow you to install and play the game, however these are not recommended or supported by Microsoft.

    .

I would imagine these third party hard drives would fall under the same category as taking an older model hard drive and modifying it to fit into a newer model Xbox, the possible consequences of which are described in the link below.

As per the link posted above it must be an official Xbox hard drive. Any attempt to install any other type of drive could be considered modding and you would risk having your console banned from the Live service.
