    controller disconnects

    My 2 controllers disconnects randomly , I think my problem is trying to use rechargeable batteries. I don't understand why I cant use brand new AA rechargeables but microsoft says you can use their rechargeable pack. Sometimes I had to use the cable from
    controller to xbox for awhile to get it to work even after unplugging xbox for a bit. Can anyone tell me why you can't use rechargeable AA batteries, I just bought EBL brand AA 2800 mAh and charger, 1 set of batteries worked for 3 days then it started acting
    up , so i replaced them and it kept acting up till I hard wired controller to xbox, played awhile , put in regular batteries , unplugged , now working. Please, Can anyone tell me why you can't use rechargeable AA batteries? Or what I am doing wrong.

    Xbox One controller battery choices

    I use Engergizer rechargeable batteries the 2300Mh and 2450Mh ones for both my Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 controller. It saves wasting money on new single-use batteries. I also own an Energizer 15 minute battery charger which can fully charge 2x AA/AAA batteries
    in 15 minutes or 4x AA/AAA batteries in 30 minutes (the charger is black). I also use Engerizer rechargeable batteries for my Turtle Beach Dolby surround headset as well. These devices take quite a bit of muscle to power and this solution works well for me.
    Batteries last about 10 hours for my Turtle beach headset and about 16 hours for the controller. Love it!

    Technically speaking the answer is No. Microsoft only supports "Using AA batteries in your Xbox One Wireless Controller" (2x1.5V) or "Using
    the Play & Charge Kit battery pack    " . However, I have been using 1.2V AA Ni-MH (HR6) rechargeable batteries for years with no problems. I have a few of them always sitting in a wall charger, ready to be used when needed.

    Hi there,

    as far as I know and assume, it should be fine to charge a Xbox One controller battery from the play and charge kit via a Xbox One controller being used on a PC.

    It's officially supported hardware and it's standard USB voltage etc so should be fine, at last that is my assumption.

    I use a controller on PC myself and charge the battery when needed.

    It is advised to use the battery when it's fully charged, if a battery is always connected to a cable it can get bad if it's not used, but that will be different per device/hardware.

    How long does the battery keep its charge for you guys while the Xbox Adaptive Controller is not being used?

    If the controller is not being used, can last much more, depending on your battery health it can last for days.
    Thank you! Yes, some days is what mine does. But if the controller is switched off and not being used, shouldn't the battery keep its charge for many months? The AA batteries in my Xbox One X and Xbox Elite (1st gen) controllers certainly do.
