Can I separate accounts?

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. I'm sorry to inform you the option to split/transfer saved data, achievements and any/or game purchases from another Microsoft Account will not be possible. We currently do not have an available feature.
The one step we have available is changing the primary email on the Microsoft account.
You can however set up home consoleon your main profile.
Note:If you choose to remove an alias that uses a Microsoft domain such as @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, or @live.com, that alias will be completely deleted and will not be available to sign in to any Microsoft
services.

I am sorry but that is not possible.

Your Microsoft Account is your Xbox Profile and Minecraft profile, they can't be unliked and linked to another account.

Merging accounts doesn't exist because of security reasons, account selling, and scamming

In response to changing the emails. Be very careful as this will be a process. As drifter stated this can work. However, If any email that you change is a Microsoft email such as Hotmail, outlook, live, or MSN.
They can not be deleted from the account totally if you use them for anything. If they are removed from the account totally in essence it deletes the email. So for example, if you use a Hotmail for work and remove it, that email you can no
longer use for work. Leave the Microsoft email on the account as a secondary email.

Thanks for coming to the forums. Unfortunately, there is no way to move content from one account to another. In this case you could either let him keep using that account, or play on his account. Then he would be where he left off on his own account.
