Can I save my games locally?

Hello. I got my boys an XBox One for christmas. It has been pretty frustrating since we got it. Plenty of "Can't sign in" errors, as well as disc read errors. We don't play online at all, but it seems we can't save our games without being signed in.
And, like I said, the sign in errors seem to be never ending. I don't know if you have to be online to sign in, but the internet is working fine (I'm on it right now), and it has been every other time I've gotten sign in errors, so that doesn't seem to be
the issue. Why can I not sign in? Do I have to be online to be able to save my games? We don't even play online. We play Skylanders and Minecraft locally. And apparently I have to be signed in to be able to save. Is there an offline save option? I guess
I'll sum up with 2 questions:

    1. Do I have to be online to sign into my account?

    2. Is there a way to save games without being signed in?

Like I said, extremely frustrating. This is a bit ridiculous. Things were so much easier in the old days.

    :)

  4. Can I save my games locally?

    Hello

Games on the Xbox One are always saved locally and then a
    copy
    is uploaded to the cloud.

You should be able to play offline just fine, if not you can go to your network settings

    • Press the Home button
    • Press the Menu button (right from the home button),and select
      Settings
    • Select Network and then go to Go offline
The reason why you need to be signed in to save is so that all data from one account stays with that account, if you have created an account and it is stored on your Xbox it shouldn't be an issue. If not you'll have to connect it and create or recover an
account. There is no way around signing into an account to save data

Ok. So, I don't have to be online to sign in? Is there a reason I would get error messages when trying to sign in then? I don't have that particular error written down, but I will next time I see it. We also constantly get a couple of disc related errors.
Probably over a 50% chance that we get one of these. Sometimes, I can power the XBox down and unplug it and start it back up, and it works, but sometimes even after that, it still throws the errors. Is this a common problem? These are the errors:

  6. Hello again

I have been able to sign in without an internet connection before so I don't see why it would prohibit other from doing so either. It should work fine once a profile exists on the console Can I save my games locally? :).

    Now about the error codes

Error code 0x87de07d1 should have been fixed by a recent system update. This issue states that a game disc has to be inserted (With a digitally purchased game). So make sure you connect your Xbox to the internet to download the latest
    update.
About error code 0x80820002 I found this

If you keep receiving the error with game discs you might need to get your console repaired. But first try and troubleshoot the issue through this page

“We are aware of reports that a small number of consoles connecting for the first time are experiencing issues taking the most recent system update, resulting in a game disc error. We believe that we have resolved the issue moving forward, but continue
to monitor the situation closely. If you have experienced a problem with all discs on a brand new console we would ask that you either exchange the console at the retailer or set up a console repair via the Xbox Online Service Centre (http://myservice.xbox.com).

    Xbox One Black Screen

My freezes seem to come from my local save games. If you can get back into the menus, even if it is slow, you can clear the local saved games and they should resync from the cloud. It is under the system menu.

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition goes to black screen when I try to continue a loaded save

You CAN actually delete your save game data locally on your xbox and leave it in the cloud. Go to your games/apps section in dashboard and go to the game in question. There are options to delete the local save game data and save game data in the cloud. You
can delete local data or delete local and cloud data.
