Can I run Xbox One live TV without a cable box with an HDMI outlet?

New Xbox One, is it true I need a cable top-box that is set up for and has HDMI outlet. I have Comcast Cable with a Motorola DCH70 cable box and an Infinity wireless box, but I do not get HDTV and neither box has an HDMI outlet. Is there anyway to get
Xbox One Live TV & benefits thereto without upgrading to Comcast HDTV and new HDTV top-box with HDTV outlet?

how can I watch tv through xbox one and on another imput on tv

I set up tv on xbox one by connecting hdmi to back of xbox one from my dish box but when I want to switch imputs on tv back to dish tv my cable box only has one hdmi input so I have to switch the hdmi around to watch tv again I bought a 2 female and one
male hdmi splitter so one hdmi is going from cable box to xbox and one hdmi going from cable box to my tv put it wont work if I have to hdmis plugged into the splitter is there another way I can watch tv both on xbox and different imput on tv with having
only one hdmi port on cable box

 

Xfinity / Comcast cable box (RNG110) No audio

I had this exact same problem and struggled with it for a while with my Comcast RNG110 set top box - no audio when going through TV, but all other audio from the XBox One worked. Tried changing a bunch of settings in my set top box and nothing worked. I
figured it was an HDMI cable issue but I didn't have another HDMI cable so I simply switched the cables (the HDMI cable that ran between the set-top box and the XBox now runs between the XBox and the TV and the one from the XBox to the TV now runs between
the XBox and the set-top box). Everything works perfectly now!

 

Sorry but an HDMI cable is required to set up the box. Is there any way that Comcast would be able to upgrade your current set up?

 

Thanks, but I am getting rid of cable and going with netflix, on air antenna tv, internet tv, direct sports and Detroit Tiger games, ect. So, is there any way for me to get the Xbox One live TV & benefits without having a cable box with HDMI Outlet? With
so many people opting out of cable & so many good alternatives, I cannot believe that Microsoft would create Xbox One so that a user has to buy cable. Smells like collusion to me.

 

There is no real Xbox One live benefits. However, if you have another gaming system you can connect it to the Xbox One via HDMI. Then use the Xbox Go To TV command to play without switching channels.
