Can I return a controller for a new one?

Hello, I bought a new XboxOne controller and it glitches while I use it. I’ve tried doing all that google said to try to resolve the issue. Nothing helped. I took it to the store I purchased it from and they told me to contact Microsoft for a replacement. Can you help me please?

Have you run the steps in Update xbox wireless controller? All controllers you use need to run the firmware update.

The uSB method is my preference.

If your controller is within warranty, you can request a replacement by entering the controller serial number in the following link and following the onscreen steps.

Note: if the controller is not listed, you can register it by clicking on the “register new device” option.

That's unfortunate. In that case I would recommend returning the controller and getting a new one.

Ask you local game dealer and tell them "Is this controller used?" If they say yes then say" can i return it?"If they let you return it

get a fresh new controller.
