Can I renew my Xbox Live Gold subscription during the 30 day security info change?

Hello. If you have auto renew enabled your subscription will renew as long as your payment method is still valid and there are available funds on the Credit/Debit card, or which ever payment method you may use.

Thanks for posting to the forums with your question. You should be able to renew it as long as you don't have to change anything on the account like your credit/debit card. If it is set up for auto renew it will renew on it own.

ok.. I got it changed.. but now it says I have to wait up to 30 days before I can turn auto renew off because I just changed security info?

Hello, FALL OF REACH! Here, buried in the T&C on the rewards.xbox.com site:

Renew 3 Month Xbox Live Gold Membership: Available only to participants who are Xbox Live Gold members renewing their Gold subscription as of the Program start date. Participants must be Xbox Live Gold members at the time of renewal. Xbox Live Free members
and Xbox Live Trial Gold members purchasing a subscription are not eligible. Each three (3) month Xbox Live Gold membership purchased during the Program Period will earn thirty (30) Microsoft Points, up to a maximum of one hundred-twenty (120) Microsoft Points
during a twelve (12) month period. To renew your Xbox Live Gold subscription, either redeem a Prepaid Live Gold subscription, purchase a subscription from your Xbox 360 console’s Dashboard, or visit
www.xbox.com/.../Membership during the Program Period. Users of Prepaid Live Gold subscriptions will be credited upon actual renewal date, defined as the time the previous subscription
would have expired.

So basically, if you've already redeemed 4 3 month cards during the last 12 months, you are only able to earn a maximum of 120 points. That could explain why you are missing points.

I'm assuming that you already know the steps on how to change automatic renewal from your account, but just in case:

That being said, if you try to change it and Xbox.com is sending a confirmation code to your phone, under settings on your Windows Live Account there should be an option to change the primary number.

1. Sign in
here using your Windows Live ID and password.

2. Click Edit Security Info. under Password and security info.

3. Click Delete under the phone number you want to remove.

4. Click No, I don’t have access.

5. Click Delete security info.

Note: It will display the date when will the security information be removed. Please be informed that you will need to wait 30 days for it to be removed.

The above steps are what I found on a help website. If that method fails for you, I suggest giving Xbox Support a call at 1-800-4MYXBOX
