Can I remove tiles from home screen?

I have these large, obtrusive tiles all over my home screen. Can I delete them, or remove them in some way? The only tiles I use are pinned at the very bottom. I'd like to actually be able to see my wallpaper!

Deleting the xbox live avatar

You can remove the xbox live tile from your home screen. This would stop your avatar from popping up all the time.

How to remove tile from Home screen ?

Wait, you talking about the "home" screen not the "My Pins" screen. As far as i know that tile on the home screen will get replaced by other tiles over time. I could be wrong though.

Xbox One's home screen will be tailored for you automatically.

Its main tiles are comprised of the experiences and apps you were last using, so it's convenient to go right back to what you were doing when you quit. And it's unique for every individual user with a profile.

Go into the store hilight NetFlix tile, press menu then unpin. See if that works.
