Can I remove grill?

I accidentally placed a sim card ontop of the xbox one grill and it's now stuck down the ////////////// grill i tried tipping it upside down it wont come out

is there away take grill off with out dismantling my Xbox as i don't want to void warranty

I tried tweezers and stuff but wont come out

It seems like a lot of hassle to get it working, though.

Just caved in and bought the XB1 due to low price of £350 and was wondering if I can disconnect the Kinect as I don't plan to use it in games or for facial recon?

 

I found the technical forums, But i'm ask if it can be left here as it's really hard to figure out where to post such a question as it's not really a technical is it? as my xbox is fine just got a stuck simcard

 

You're best to search online, even if anyone knows on here we can't actually talk about it. It falls into console modification.

 

Have you tried vacuuming the vent?

 

@Goatsnatcher ah okay I do apologies I don't know what you mean by console modification but i guess that means something do with physically changing it? or so? sorry I'm new to xbox it's my first ever one I pre-ordered the halo 5 xbox one 1tb console so

And to the vacuuming?! isn't that dangerous when i look at it from an angel under the vent is a fan, wont it ruin the console if i use a vacuum cleaner hose? or suck something out of console or break it!

Don't worry about it, unfortunately they frown upon us talking about altering consoles on here, even when it's a legitimate reason like your own.

Vacuuming the vents is fine imo. It's something I've done every other day since launch to keep the dust off.

Empty the vacuum.

Make sure you remove any games.

Get someone to hold the console upside-down.

Vacuum the vent and hope you suck the card out.

 

Have you actually tried just turning it upside-down and see if it falls out anyway? Again though, make sure you remove any disc from the console first.

 

The left hand side vent pops off easily and doesn't break the seal, try popping that and holding the console on its side, might drop out. Good luck.

 

@genchy do you mean right hand side vent? I'm talking about the vent that's on top of the XBOX!!

The vent is on top on right handside the side powerbutton is on.. I'm not talking about side vents or anything.

@goatsnatcher, yes I tried turning it upside down even tried lightly tapping it, I can't exactly see how sim card is stuck with out removing vent.

Yes I know you are, I'm suggesting removing the side and turning the console on the side as a possible solution. If the sim is laying on top it should fall out.

 

@Genchy i don't know how to take of the side.

 

If you're going to use a vacuum, cover the end with some pantyhose or some other very thin but strong material. That way you still get the suction, but you won't have to fish the card out of the vacuum or risk damaging it.
