Can I remove an Xbox from my Microsoft account by changing emails address ?

changing the primary alias. If you are interested in switching email addresses between two accounts, you must first remove the primary alias from one account and add it to the other account. However, there are certain email addresses that are not able to
be recovered once they have been removed from a Microsoft account. These type of email addresses are from other Microsoft domains (like @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com), cannot be added again as an alias to any Microsoft account once they're removed.
If you remove an email address from @outlook.com, it can be re-created as a new account or alias after 30 days. We hope this helps!

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. Actually, the link that ITSRATBOY2002 provided is the correct method on how to close a Microsoft account. However, this will also delete the Xbox profile completely. There is no way to transfer an Xbox profile
from one Microsoft account to another. The Xbox profile includes downloadable content, games, achievements and progress, and saved data.

There is a way to
change the primary email address of the Microsoft account. This will keep the Xbox profile intact while allowing you to change the email address that you use to log in to the account. Keep in mind that removing certain email addresses that are already placed
on a Microsoft account may remove them from our system completely. These types of email addresses are @live.com, @msn.com and @hotmail.com. These email addresses will not be able to be recovered once removed from an account.

you cannot transfer games/DLC or save from one account to another but you can change the account email address. It can be a multi-step process however I do not know that you can make an account a child account once validated as an adult, if that's what
you want to do.

Maybe I'm not being clear or I'm not understanding the instructions. I have an email address associated to my xbox account that was set up automatically when I set up the xbox. I cannot access this email address, it doesn't have a microsoft account allocated
to it as far as I can see. I want to remove that email address from xbox and assign my new fully functioning microsoft email account to to the xbox account. I do not care if the existing email address disappears as long as my existing profile moves to the
new address and I can for example, receive email notifications.

I am not changing anything on a microsoft account, I am trying to swap out an email address.
